Britpop legends Blur are taking to twitter to debut two 'never before performed to the public' tracks. The new tracks were written especially for the bands upcoming sold out show in Hyde Park, 'Under The Westway' and 'The Puritan' were penned by frontman Damon Albarn for the special show to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics, "I wrote these songs for Hyde Park and I’m really excited about getting out there and playing them for people."

Blur will perform both tracks as part of a live stream taking place on Monday 2nd July at 6:15pm. The feed will begin with a performance of the first track followed by an interview with the group. The second track will be performed at 7:15pm.

All you have to do is follow @blurofficial where the link to the event will be posted in time for the 6.15pm kick off. Watch the bands bassist and award winning cheese maker Alex James explain in further detail the special one off event.

Fingers crossed those lucky enough to get to the warm up gigs will also get a chance to see the band perform the new songs live. No doubt the debate of whether we’ll get treated to an entire album of new material will rage on following this announcement, however seeing as the band are releasing the special Blur 21 box set this summer to celebrate 21 years since their debut album it would seem a long way off yet and besides two new songs is better than no new songs!
