British Sea Power have announced they'll be undertaking a very unique UK tour this year. Launching on July 17th at the Durham International Brass Festival, the band is set to play a handful of dates this autumn, all of them accompanied by a leading championship brass band.

The Sea of Brass UK tour follows their most recent album Machineries of Joy, and will marry the band's unique soundscapes with the evocative strains of the brass band, achieving a very particular result. The project idea was first formulated in Derby as part of a producer development scheme from PRS for Music Foundation: "I knew I wanted to work on a creative project with British Sea Power and doing something with Brass Bands was always in the back of my mind so I was delighted when Scott Wilkinson had the same idea," explains producer Kate Walters (part of the project since 2012).

The July concert will feature the NASUWT Riverside Band, with future concerts seeing Fodens, Flowers, Jaguar Land Rover, Redbridge and Derwent Brass among the participating brass bands. Check the upcoming tour schedule below.
