A full-length album has been a longtime coming for Desert Sharks, the Brooklyn garage rock quartet that has been cutting its teeth in the city's scene for the better part of a decade. The group will finally be releasing its debut LP, Baby's Gold Death Stadium, next month on Sept. 27. The band is teasing the record with a new single, 'Sorceress,' a shredding showcase of everything that has endeared the group to the New York scene for so many years.

'Sorceress' is a powerful ode to personal power, as well as a repudiation of the dismissal of aging women. Desert Sharks use their signature blend of crunching guitars and propulsive drums to explosive effect, supercharging the track with empowering anger and righteous fury.

"The idea for 'Sorceress' began after we were talking at practice about letting our grey hair grow in," the band says. "From there it spiraled into thinking about the archetype of the sorceress as a symbol of embracing personal power. It’s a vocal rejection of society’s common dismissal of aging women. Growing older doesn’t mean you lose value. It means you know yourself more, and with that knowledge comes the power to choose how you live your life."

You can watch the video for 'Sorceress' up above, and be sure to pre-order Desert Sharks' debut album Baby's Gold Death Stadium, due out on Sept. 27 via Substitute Scene Records. The band will be playing a release show on Sept. 28 at The Broadway in Brooklyn. A full list of Desert Sharks' upcoming tour dates can be found below.
