Hot on the heels of their debut EP Try and Begin, the Brooklyn rock quartet UV Rays are prepping the release of their sophomore EP, The Right Stuff, due out next Friday. In anticipation of that release, the group is sharing a live version of 'Faster Now,' a shimmering new single that showcases the band's knack for earworm melodies and airtight grooves.

Perhaps it is no surprise that 'Faster Now' has such rhythm, as it was written by bassist Tim Marchetta-Wood, who also handles the lead vocals. Thanks to an angular performance by guitarist Danny Sullivan, the track also has a hefty dash of melancholy, invoking post-punk groups like Cut Off Your Hands. But that melancholy never stops you from wanting to get up and dance yourself silly.

UV Rays will be playing at the Soundtown Festival NYC (who produced the live session for 'Faster Now') on Aug. 19, and the band's upcoming EP The Right Stuff will be released on Aug. 9. Don't miss it.
