Carbon Logic Presents: (Visit Carbon Logic.com)
In September 2009 the independent music network Carbon Logic launched a search for up and coming bass music producers. Over a four month period, over seven hundred tracks from across the globe were submitted and then filtered down to the fifteen best, which will be shortly collected on the compilation. Suffice to say the resultant creme de la creme are pretty damn heavy, and demonstrate (a perhaps not unsurprisingly) young, vibrant, and heavy hitting cross section of dub step, broken beats and bassline. The Grassroots LP, we are told by a reliable source, represents a snapshot of the splintering scenes of bass music and beyond as we head deeper into 2010. The 12” vinyl will feature Carbon Logic man Nick Argon’s two favourite tracks and a remix by Bristol’s tropical frontrunner Gemmy. If you like your music a little dark, often dancey, and on the actually intelligent side of IDM, then this is something you almost certainly won't want to miss. Ahead of the big release Carbon Logic have also seen fit to drop a 12" featuring winning track 'Suspect' from producer Partition (whose myspace you should go and listen to it on now!) Uproot's 'Amusia' on the flip and a winning rework of 'Suspect' from the aforementioned Gemmy, which you can check out below! 02 Suspect (Gemmy Remix) by louthomaspr It's rare that something this left-field and, for want of a better word crunk comes our way but sometimes the cross over is worth it. Hopefully able to bring you more on this lot and updated impressions on the record soon.
