With a Guardian 'New Band Of The Day' title dating back from 2008, Cashier No9 are hardly a new prospect. Rather than gaining overnight success, followed by the press turning on them, one of them going into rehab and then eventually splitting up - the band have been slowly burning.

This 'slow burn' process recently led to the band signing to Bella Union for the release of their debut album To The Death Of Fun (out in June). Not bad right?

We caught up with the band to film a couple of tracks and to find out why Bella came knocking. The session was filmed by Sonny Malhotra (www.sonnymalhotra.co.uk) and was organised by the epic Sebastian Reynolds.
