Chan Marshall, aka Cat Power, has announced her first new album in 6 years; it's called Wanderer and will come out on Domino on October 5th. In her own words, the album is “[her] journey so far.”

Expanding on this further, Marshall says: The course my life has taken in this journey - going from town to town, with my guitar, telling my tale; with reverence to the people who did this generations before me. Folk singers, blues singers, and everything in between. They were all wanderers, and I am lucky to be among them.”

The album will have a feature from erstwhile tourmate Lana Del Rey, which is sure to be quite a sultry and exciting combination. We'll have to be patient for that though, as for now Cat Power is only teasing us with the 75 second introductory track, along with a video of her walking across atmospheric sand dunes. Check it out below.
