I will likely forever mix up the words "Cavalry" and "Calvary." The former being horse-riding soldiers and the latter being the site where Jesus was crucified (also the title of a moving and underseen movie starring Brendon Gleeson). An emerging Liverpudlian band spells their name Cavalry, but their new single had a moving religiosity to it.

'Black' is patient and graceful from the start, with slow guitar strums setting a tone. Alan Croft’s delicate, longing vocals add further emotional heft and he's joined by a backing choir that makes you feel like you're drifting into Heaven. If you're looking for a break from chaos and just want to float to another realm, Cavalry are here for you.
