Since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album Votive Life last year, the Brighton five-piece Cave Painting have been keeping the release of any new material under wraps. But in light of their new single, 'Rio', the band are now releasing three brand new songs in support of the EP title track on April 28. Supplementing this release is another characteristically contemporary video, as well a special one-off London show on May 10 at Dalston Roof Gardens.

2012 saw Cave Painting tour with Alt-J and Gaz Coombes, release an album, and obtain a great deal of excitement and attention from the likes of Zane Lowe, Fearne Cotton and John Kennedy for their single 'Leaf'. The new year looked promising, and having spent the start of 2013 actively writing and recording their new material, Cave Painting have now bound themselves to a hectic rehearsal schedule in preparation for their debut U.S. performances at SXSW. To support their U.S. shows, the band are releasing a U.S./digital only four track EP featuring stellar tracks from their first U.K. EP – 'Midnight Love', 'Our Click Say Yeah' – alongside new single 'Rio' and the previously unavailable 'Light Show'.

Tickets for the Dalston Roof Gardens performance can be bought here, and you can get a feel for the new EP by listening to 'Rio' below.
