Promoting a different side of an artist is sometthing BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge does very well. The latest in the station's series comes from Charli XCX, who has covered 'Shake It Off' by Taylor Swift.

She injects it with about 150% more attitude, with her backing band's crashing drums and distorted guitars and the punk-esque yelps of "hey, hey" from her singers storming the walls of the original and holding a harlequin court in its usually tame interiors. There is also no mention of a "sick beat" which we're really happy about.
