There's body-jostling footwork rhythms at work in Ellie Herring's original new track, 'Maze'. Squeaky shoe, wibbling synths make their bustling way through the track, fluttering above steaming fissures carved out by brutally rumbling sub-bass, low pitch-shifted vocals adding ghostly menace as the drum-machine-flavoured beat lets out rapid-fire handclaps and poignantly reserved ticking hi-hats. Though clearly club-destined, it actually feels like the kind of thing that would cause a club to implode if played.
