You know when a remix turns a song into something else entirely? Well, this version of Swedish outfit Colleagues' track 'Talk It Out' by Greenwich-based producer Cold Courage is an exemplary altered beast.

Whilst the original is a warm, sparklingly syncopated pop-flavoured track infused with feel-good bounce, Cold Courage's remix takes a decidedly harder turn – although it begins as a soaring, hypnotic track utilising the original's vocals, it soon ends up as a brutally juddering, almost abrasively but also glisteningly waterfalling tract of bassy, expansive techno-effusing fun.

"The energy or hardness was dictated by what the song is about," Cold Courage tells us. "I heard it as positive message in a dark situation. I tried to get the remix darker and more hypnotic as it progresses, to reflect the situation of what the song is about. I'm also really getting into the Berlin, techno side of things at the moment"

And Colleagues themselves approve. "We love this remix, it brings out a new perspective of the song," they say. "Really liking the way he uses sort of lo-fi'ish samples mixed with hard electronics to create this kind of organic berghain vibe."

You can head on over to Birthdays, Dalston, on 22nd July, where Colleagues will be playing live – it's free entry!
