Cigarettes After Sex, by all rights, shouldn't have worked. Rhye seemed to have a lock on white boys singing about sensuality, but Cigarettes took it all a step further, right on down to their on the nose name. Eye rolls were prepared by listeners every way before playing a note.

Yet, work it did, and astoundingly well at that. Their debut album proved emotionally resonant and addictingly listenable.

Luckily for all us ashamed would-be naysayers, the band is already back, having just announced their sophomore album, the aptly titled Cry, out October 25th.

Check out lead single, 'Heavenly', below, and stay tuned for more from the band very soon.
