If you have 6 minutes to spare, we'd like to point you in the direction of 'Captain of None', the title-track from Colleen's forthcoming album.

"It was the first song I recorded for the album, because I knew from the start – even when the album was only half- composed – that it would be the title track and that it was the song that would pave the way for the others, both musically and in terms of lyrics," explains Colleen (aka Cecile Schott) over email. "Like the rest of the album, it was played, recorded, produced and mixed entirely by myself in my studio in San Sebastián during the spring of 2014, which was particularly lovely over here and made the recording of this album feel quite different to all my other recording experiences which all happened in winter."

Colleen continues: "The song is about losing touch with reality and not recognizing nor understanding yourself, being prey to an obsession and trying to find rest in vain. "Captain of nothing, captain of none" is a phrase that stayed stuck in my head as I was trying to describe those feelings and it just seemed to encapsulate perfectly what the song is about."

The way that phrase twists and loops, before eventually fading out, is quite something. Check it out below.

Captain of None is released on April 6th via Thrill Jockey.
