Elliott Carter, the influential American avant garde composer, has sadly passed away at the age of 103. He had been writing music in a variety of forms since the 1920s, and even includes over a dozen works since turning 100. He taught at Harvard, Yale, Julliard, and more, and was the recipient of two Pulitzers, a Grammy, and numerous other honors.
