David Bowie may not be touring this year, but he might take on the role of a serial killer's uncle.

Bryan Fuller, the executive producer of the excellent and creepy television program Hannibal, confirmed that he reached out to Bowie to join the cast as Count Robert Lecter, Dr. Hannibal’s uncle, next season.

Although (SPOILER ALERT) the character of Robert Lecter was killed in the source novels, Fuller described the Hannibal timeline as "a little more present, there\s a little bit of J.J. Abrams-style alternative universe storytelling where he could be alive." There's been no official word from Bowie’s camp yet and the new season begins shooting in August.
