Crying High, the delightfully named project of Montreal's David Kleiser, keys into an intoxicating genre he's termed "vapornoir," which takes chops and screws disco à la vaporwave, but dims the lights and turns up the fog machines, adding a sultry layer of haze and seduction. The project has a record, simply titled , coming out next week, so Kleiser is sharing a video today for new single 'Brave The Waves.'

Animated and directed by Jake Roels, the video features an array of surreal images, equal parts haunting and celestial. The track itself frames Kleiser's reverb-drenched vocals against a rhythmic, syrupy synth and some tropical percussion. The lyrics, cast through Kleiser's addicting vocal melody, conjure up a variety of eclectic images of space and the stars, which play interesting with the song's ethereal groove.
