Update

Quote from the band:

"We all still love each other very much," said the group, "for a band called Dananananaykroyd we've done more than we ever expected or possibly even intended and we've enjoyed nearly every step of the way. We're very keen at the same time to make sure we're never compromising or giving anything less than 100% and at this juncture of our collective lives, it makes sense to go out with a bang - which is exactly what this tour will be."

The band will release their final single 'Think & Feel' digitally on 7th November 2011.

With the recent jokey split news from the Bloc Party camp, any band announcing they're splitting now is sure to bring questionable looks from the public. Unfortunately it seems that the latest band to call it a day are being deadly serious.

Yes, the UK's best live band have decided to throw in the towel.

They've posted a status on their Facebook page that reads 'Dananananaykroyd RIP (2006-2011)' and have confirmed via twitter that the remaining tour dates will be their last.

We're still hoping this is a cruel joke, but fear it's not.
