Legendary pianist and composer Dave Brubeck has sadly passed away, one day short of his 92nd birthday, due to heart failure. The artist, responsible for such groundbreaking tunes as 'Take Five' (written by Paul Desmond, made famous by Brubeck and his band) and 'Blue Rondo A La Turk', reinvigorated jazz in the 1950s and '60s. His album Time Out was the first jazz album to sell one million copies. Dave Brubeck inspired decades of musicians, helped jazz grow and thrive, and will be sorely missed.
