Los Angeles' Death Valley Girls have revealed that they will be releasing a new album called Darkness Rains on October 5th through Suicide Squeeze. They've done it with some considerable style too, releasing a video for lead single 'Disaster (Is What We're After)' that stars Iggy Pop.

What is Iggy doing in the clip for 'Disaster (Is What We're After)'? Well he grooves to Death Valley Girls' gloomy surf rock while chowing down on a hamburger of course - and the combination is undeniably gripping. The video was shot on 16mm by Kansas Bowling and is a recreation of the famous Andy Warhol Eating a Hamburger short film.

Commenting on the video, Death Valley Girls say “We’re strong believers in opti-mysticism and connecting with people through rock n’ roll... Having Iggy dig our music was more than amazing for us. When Kansas told us she had a dream about recreating the ‘Andy Warhol Eating a Hamburger’ short film but with Iggy starring for our music video, we were cautiously excited about the possibility. Next thing we know we’re in Miami with Iggy himself, and a rock n’ roll dream became reality!”
