Those bloody wonderful folks over at FACT have a treat for us all today, as they've dug up a mix by Detroit techno pioneer Derrick May from the mid-90s.

FACT themselves have written a pretty extensive biography of May which is worth checking out alone. But in a nutshell, what we have here is a 25-minute mix of music that was found by 'Mad' Mike Banks in the DAT archives at Metroplex HQ. May is best known for producing a wide array of classic club tracks, under his own name and as Rhythim Is Rhythim, Mayday and Long Ago.

Those who want to see a phenomenal techno DJ at work will be able to this Friday, 27th July as Derrick takes up the decks; headlining the final instalment of Dollop's Detroit Series in London. Best of all, tickets are still available for a mere £12.50.

You can take a listen to the mix over at FACT now.
