Last month Songkick launched Detour London (a project which raises funds via pledgers to bring bands to London) and today we can confirm the first band to play will be none other than Desaparecidos!

The Nebraskan band (led by Bright Eyes man Conor Oberst) only recorded one album in their short time together, 2002's Read Music/Speak Spanish, and despite a reformation back in 2010 to play The Concert for Equality in Omaha, the band never made it over to the UK, until now...

Tickets for the show, which takes place at the Islington Academy on the 11th of February 2013, go on sale this Wednesday from here.

Finally, as if all that excitement wasn't enough we also have one pair of tickets to give away to one lucky reader! All you have to do is answer the following question correctly:

Translated into English, what does Desaparecidos mean?

  • A) Desperate ones
  • B) Depressed ones
  • C) Disappeared ones
