Last year Dave Longstreth released his first essentially solo album as Dirty Projectors the self-titled album which dealt with the break up with former bandmate Amber Coffman. Now that he's got that off his chest, it seems like he's hit a new well of inspiration, as he today announces the 9th Dirty Projectors album Lamp Lit Blues for release on Domino on July 13th.

Lamp Lit Blues seems to be much less of an isolated project for Longstreth, as usual DP members/collaborators Nat Baldwin and Mike Johnson rejoined as the rhythm section, and the album also boasts guest spots from Syd, Haim, Empress Of, Amber Mark, Rostam and Robin Pecknold. Pretty exciting, to say the least.

However, as the first single from Lamp Lit Blues, Dirty Projectors have released 'Break-Thru', which is just DPs doing their thing. It features a lot of the glitchiness of Dirty Projectors, but managed in a way that harkens back to the joyous unpredictability of Bitte Orca. Check it out below.

Pre-order Lamp Lit Blues from Domino ahead of its July 13th release.
