Ahead of this weekend's Standon Calling festival (31st July - 2nd August), we had a brief chat with the excellent DJ Yoda.

Why should people come and see you at Standon Calling?
Because there's very little else to do in a field in Hertfordshire at that time of night. Also because I have fantastic personal hygiene.

Do you approach festival sets differently to ordinary shows?
Yes - festival sets are usually time to pull out the bangers, rather than go weird or experimental!

Is there a particular song of yours that you most enjoy playing live?
I'm actually really bad at playing my own productions in DJ sets - I always forget!

When was the last time you tried something new?
I'm opening a restaurant this week - that will truly be something new!

Other than music, what else might we find you obsessing over?
Well, given the above, recipes for short ribs and pulled pork sandwiches.

What are you currently working on at the moment?
A new 'How To Cut & Paste' mix, with a top secret theme. And my new album Breakfast of Champions, which I'm still touring.

This is a tough one - what’s your favourite live music experience to date?
That is tough. I remember seeing A Tribe Called Quest in their prime in the early 90s, that was pretty special.

Who are you most looking forward to checking out this weekend at Standon Calling?
Roots Manuva. Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. Rag 'N' Bone Man.

Tickets for Standon Calling are still available here.
