It's 2014 and huge stars are still getting into trouble regarding sample clearance. The latest case involves Drake and his most recent album, Nothing Was the Same.

The track in question is 'Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2', which features Jay Z's best line in a long time ("cake, cake, cake, cake, cake cake") and some spoken word dialogue from Jimmy Smith's 'Jimmy Smith Rap'. The liner notes claim that the sample was used with permission, but TMZ are suggesting that's not the case.

The size of the lawsuit - which involves Drake and Cash Money - exceeds $300,000. Listen to both tracks below.
