The dreamy Montreal five-piece Bodywash are making plans to release their debut LP Comforter later this summer. Coming Aug. 30 via Luminelle Records, the record is sure to be one of 2019's most beautiful records. And the proof is in the pudding, as they say, because the band's new single 'Reverie' is a stunning display of Bodywash's talent -- in atmosphere, instrumentation and lyricism.

Originally conceived in a tiny rehearsal space, 'Reverie' was birthed out of a sense of confinement. Bodywash notes the song's underlying tension "that gives way to a manic need for release.

"The track gestures toward a hope for something new, even if that something is just a fantasy," the band explains. "Its frantic, escapist bent erodes distinctions between real and surreal, subject and object. All that prevails is a desire to float to the surface -- whatever that surface may be."

Give 'Reverie' a listen up above and be sure to check out Bodywash's debut LP Comforter when it drops on Aug. 30 via Luminelle Recordings. It is shaping up to be one of 2019's highlight debuts. You can pre-order the album here.
