Can founding member and drummer, Jaki Liebezeit died at the age of 78 from sudden pneumonia. The band made an announcement on Facebook over the weekend, delivering the news that he "fell asleep peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. We will miss him hugely."

Liebezeit recorded on all 12 of Can's studio studio albums, and was set to reunite with founding-member Irmin Schmidt and Malcolm Mooney for a special 50th anniversary The Can Project show at London's Barbican Hall in April. RIP.
