The brainchild of two of London's most prolific club personalities, Rob Star and Will Paterson, the Eastern Electrics Festival returns to London for a fourth outing since its birth in the wake of the Athenian Olympics. With the torch now firmly glowing on our shores, this year's EE festival is set to be its most emphatic yet. Taking place in the 12,000 capacity Area 12 on Greenwich Peninsula, the all day party promises to showcase some of the very best electronic music the world currently has on offer.

The event has been sold out for sometime now and for any of those who have had a chance to sneak a peak at the line up; it's no wonder why. The main stage will welcome Jamie Jones, a frontrunner in the new breed of house and techno DJs whose attraction resonates much further than their music allows. Joining Jones will be infamous Canadian duo Azari & III, whose infectious live sets are said to be reviving house on a worldwide scale.

There will be a grand total of six stages on offer for party-goers and with curation from the likes of FOUND, 2020 Vision and krankbrother, it's fair to say that the EE festival will have a large majority of musical bases covered. A particularly intriguing line up comes from the Black Atlantic stage, which will be headlined by one of the godfathers of deep house, Kerri Chandler, whose memorable sets have been keeping people moving for decades. Chandler will be joined by bass-driven Bristolian Julio Bashmore and London dubstep pioneer Joy Orbison amongst others.

Whilst on the 2020 Vision stage, the legendary Andrew Weatherall will be preceded by an inevitably boisterous live set from Crazy P. The stage will also see label founder Ralph Lawson making way for one of the founders of the early eighties Manc electro scene, Greg Wilson.

Other acts not to be missed include Boddika (formerly of Instra:mental), Scottish wonderkid Koreless and disco-house fusionaires Tensnake.

Whilst general attendance tickets are sold out, VIP tickets are still on offer and with the weather promising to grace the shores of Greenwich Peninsula with an abundance of sunshine, Eastern Electrics 2012 is firmly on course to be London's defining summer party.

Eastern Electrics Festival takes place on 4th August 2012 (11am-10pm) at Area 12, Greenwich Peninsula, London SE10 0BE. The festival will be followed by an after party (EE+) at Proud2, The O2.
