Eels' Mark Oliver Everett will be honoured with one of the most important accolades in the capital city game: the Freedom of the City of London. Everett will receive the award during a ceremony at London's Guildhall tomorrow (July 24th), a few hours before Eels take the stage at the Barbican Centre.

Everett will join names such as Winston Churchill, Placido Domingo, Princess Diana, Nelson Mandela, and Bob Geldof, though he'll be the first singer of a contemporary rock band to receive the award.
