Tamino is a 21-year-old singer songwriter of Belgian and Egyptian descent who has recently signed to Communion Records for the release of his debut EP, which will be followed by a tour of Europe. These are big steps for an artist with nary any music to his name, but in hearing debut single 'Habibi' you instantly understand why so much faith has been placed in him.

'Habibi' is a stark and bruised song that bears Tamino's emotions on its very surface, his dextrous voice like curling calligraphy across the spare guitar and pianos. In both range and ambiance the song instantly draws justified comparisons to Jeff Buckley, but there are also hints of his Arabic roots in the perfumed atmosphere and his vocal melodies. Although 'Habibi' is over five minutes of brooding, it never drags, rather it compels you to lean in closer and hone in the delicately drawn feelings swirling through it. Listen to 'Habibi' below.
