We all know that we can’t run from problems, but Ella Grace makes it seem appealing and easy. On her breathtaking new single, ‘Run’, the 22-year-old Londoner uses lush guitar and an incredibly versatile voice to craft a poignant narrative.

“Even when the wolves call me at night, I’ll run, I’ll run, I’ll run with you most each and every night,” she tries her best to promise. But these wolves might be stronger than she realizes. As the song progresses, it becomes apparent how much the pressure is getting to Grace, particularly when she starts whooping as if her feelings can’t be put into words. When she does use words, she hits all the right notes, like on the bridge, where she declares, “I’m still running from my shadow, to find a space where we’ll be free.” Freedom might never be absolute, but Grace can try her best to get closer to that ideal.
