Exposure is our scrapbook of our favourite new artists. Today's exposure features swooning, London-based folkstress Flick White.

  • Name: Flick White
  • Location: SW London-via-Bournemouth
  • Genre: Harmony-laden Folk
  • For Fans of: The Staves, Lucy Rose
  • Website: Soundcloud

Capital-dwelling songstress Flick White spawns the kind of subtly sultry, folk pop that wouldn’t sound remotely out of place at the final curtain of Jameela Jamil’s weekly countdown. At first the 22-year-old’s polished, heart-indebted lament ‘Living In Fear’ echoes a sugary strum by singer-songwriter Lucy Rose, before later seducing with velvety harmonies that evoke sister trio The Staves. Needless to say, it’s the kind of bold and infectious formula that we expect to slip into public consciousness during the Year of the Snake.
