Judging from the photo on his Soundcloud's page, Jackson Scott looks like he needs a full night's sleep. The unkempt, red-eyed North Carolina native emerged on to the scene less than a year ago with a loner-stoner jam 'That Awful Sound' which, by the way, doesn't sound that awful at all.

Citing Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett as his biggest inspiration, Scott is more than serious about his guitar work. On his debut Melbourne, he crafts a series of fuzzy guitar-driven tunes that he himself described as "apocalypse pop" to near perfection. Tracks like 'Sandy' and 'Together Forever' straddles comfortably between 60s wooziness and modern-day wistfulness whereas 'Today' and 'Doctor Mad' are reminiscent of 90s bands like Weezer and Pixies.
