Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig is a credited collaborator on Beyoncé's latest album, Lemonade. After receiving songwriting credit and a co-production credit for 'Hold Up,' (which includes bits from Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 'Maps' and Soulja Boy's 'Turn My Swag On,') Ezra explains how it all happened in further. He pointed out that in a tweet from 2011, he wrote "hold up, they don't love u like i love u," and in 2014, he worked on a song with Diplo which used the 'Maps' reference as his hook. The demo eventually turned into Bey's 'Hold Up.'
