R.I.P to legendary British songwriter Rod Temperton who lost his battle with cancer and has died at the age of 66. "His family is devastated and request total privacy at this, the saddest of sad times," Chairman & CEO of Warner/Chappell, Jon Platt said in a statement.

Temperton is most known for his work with Michael Jackson, having earned credits on 'Thriller', 'Rock With You', and 'Off The Wall.' He also wrote songs with Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Rufus & Chaka Khan, Carpenters, and many others.
