Prior to his short UK tour, which kicks off in London this Monday, Malcolm Middleton talks us through his fantasy band line-up, including who he'd get to produce their work, and what he'd call the band. Read on to find out who he chose, and why.

Before we get down to business, make sure you check him out (performing as Human Don't Be Angry) at the following dates:

  • 21st May London Cargo
  • 22nd May Bristol Louisiana
  • 23rd May Manchester Deaf Institute
  • 15th June Edinburgh Electric Circus
  • 16th June Glasgow King Tuts

My fantasy band would be:

  • Drums: Tomas Haake (Meshuggah)
  • Bass: Jenny Lee Lindberg (Warpaint)
  • Lead Guitar: Tommy Victor (Prong, but must be playing similar style to first two albums Primitive Origins and Force Fed
  • Rhythm guitar: Tonny Iommi (Black Sabbath. Controversial role here, but I like his riffs more than his solos...)
  • Vocals: Stevie Nicks (using her early 80's voice)
  • Backing singers: The Fabulous Wealthy Tarts (as heard on Paul Young's No Parlez album)
  • Piano: Errol Garner
  • Synths: Harold Faltermeyer (Axel F etc)

And maybe Kanye West doing some rapping in the middle. I'd get Dutch Uncles & Miaoux Miaoux to write the songs, and I'd probably want to throw a Rihanna vocal sample in somewhere.

Matt Wallace (Faith No More's The Real Thing) would produce the album.

And the band would be called Lotus Land

As far as I'm aware none of these people are dead, so this really should happen...
