Guilfest is an independently run, family festival held in Stoke Park, Guildford on 16th, 17th and 18th July (that's only a week away!) Packed with extras such as comedy, children's entertainment, theatre and art/craft exhibitions, as well as a lineup that this year showcases headliners Orbital, Human League and Status Quo (proving that declining to go down the mass corporate sponsorship route definitely doesn't mean a sub-standard line-up), there really is something for everyone. Music-wise, as well as the main stage the festival also includes The Good Time Guide Stage (headlined by The Wonder Stuff, Hawkwind and The Twang), The Rock Sound Cave (Fucked Up, The Blackout and The King Blues) and The Funky End Dance Tent (Sub Focus, Tinie Tempeh and Chase & Status). And it doesn't all end when the stages close, with entertainment continuing into the wee small hours at The Rock Sound Afterparty, Farmer Giles Barn Dance, 70s Disco, Funky End and singalong sessions at the Acoustic Tent. With Guildford Lido and leisure centre right next door, if the music gets a little too much (really?!) you can take a break and go swimming, bowling or even ice-skating (or just wander over there for that much needed mid-festival shower!) Campsites open at 10am Thursday morning, and the Festival Site at 10am Friday morning. Don't miss the pre-festival disco in the campsite on Thursday night! The 405 recommends: Fucked Up, The King Blues, The Delays, Turbowolf, Japanese Voyeurs, Mungo Jerry and Kid Creole & The Coconuts ickets for this sure-fire hit of a festival are still available but selling fast!
