The first acts have been confirmed for this year's Great Escape festival. The multi-venue single town festival and annual 405 editors summer holiday has announced some great artists to continue the spirit of the event.

Picks of the bunch include: How to Dress Well, Chvrches, Phosphorescent, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Wolf Alice, Darkstar, 1975, Dingus Khan, King Krule, Eagulls, Portasound, Sweet Baboo and Swim Deep.While Bastille have been confirmed to play one of the Brighton Dome shows.

You can bet that once the full line up is announced there will be more great bands than time to see them, as is completely expected of the UK's own version of SXSW, which continues to grow from strength to strength. This years festival takes place from 16th-18th of May in Brighton. Full details are available here.
