Update: BPM Festival has now released a statement confirming that four people are dead and 12 injured following the shooting: "It is with great sadness to share that police have confirmed reports of a lone shooter outside the Blue Parrot nightclub in Playa Del Carmen earlier today, which resulted in four fatalities and 12 injured," reads the statement. Three of those who were killed were members of the BPM security team.

At least four people are reported dead following a shooting at the closing party of BPM Festival in Mexico. Festival-goers are asked to stay in your hotel following the early-morning shooting that occurred once a gunman entered the club in Playa Del Carmen and opened fire, according to Jackmaster. A security guard was said to be among those fatally injured.

A second shooting was also reported at a second venue called The Jungle but a publicist for the festival says they are incorrect.
