Friends of The 405 Folkroom Records sent us an email recently with the header February 14th. Aww how romantic we thought, as we dusted off our smartest shoes, dug out some breath mints and Googled the nearest flower shop.

It wasn't an invitation for a hot/twee date sadly - but even more excitedly it is the title of the second release on the label, an EP by Andrew Butler. The five-track EP by the London-based singer/songwriter is of course to be released on Valentine's day, and promises to behold tender saccharine moments floated in a pool of affecting lyrics. You did catch the debut release by Folkroom of free compilation Anthology One right?

The EP will be available to buy on Bandcamp on February 14th, though you can preview opener 'A Thousand Words' below as well as nabbing a free download of classic Johnny Cash track 'Guess Things Happen That Way'.

What's more the folk at Folkroom will be hosting a special evening the day after at the Queens Head near Kings Cross, where Butler will be showcasing some of his favourite artists such as Rosie, formally of The Worry Dolls, alongside the likes of Lucy Cait and Josienne Clarke. So get down there on February 15th and drown yourself in some scrumptious cider and treat yourself to some free music.
