Foxygen are having a rather tumultuous Summer, and not in a good way; after vocalist Sam France having fell on stage last July during a concert in Minneapolis, the band was forced to cancel following gigs until further news regarding his medical condition were released: "Sam is OK - he might have broken his leg. Show cancelled tonight. Updates on future shows coming soon..."

Now the band has shared an update of France's injuries on Twitter, confirming that they will be unable to make an appearance at Los Angeles FYF Fest next weekend: "Foxygen will be unable to perform at next week's FYF Festival in Los Angeles. The cancellation is directly related to injuries sustained by Sam France during a Minnesota performance in late July. Sam sustained complete fractures of the tibia and fibula. The breaks were severe enough to require surgery, involving an intramedullar nailing of the tibia and a metal rod placed in his leg. Sam is currently unable to walk unassisted, and is undergoing six weeks of physical therapy. Being from the LA area, it's a true heartbreaker for the band to be unable to appear at FYF. Thank you so much to our fans for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you soon!"

The band are also said to be working on new material, which will hopefully see the light of day by the end of the year - in the meanwhile, both guitarist Jonathan Rado and drummer Shaun Fleming are promoting their solo projects.
