Working in retail isn't great most of the time, but it's downright hellish during the holiday season. Arguably my least favorite bit is the soundtrack we're forced to listen to, hearing roughly 7 different versions of 'Last Christmas' or 'Santa Baby' in a 9 hour shift, with the one saving grace being in Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas is You' due to the sheer insanity of it all. I wish we had more tracks like the new tune from alt-rockers D.I.D, 'TV Christmas', on there - it would make the holiday season be much more enjoyable. It's a bit more melancholy and dark than what you might normally hear around this time of year, but that's what makes it great - they aren't afraid to have a little fun with it and in turn, have provided one of their strongest tracks thus far. D.I.D's vocalist, Robert Milton, talked about the song a bit more in a press release:

"I've been meaning to write my own Christmas song for years and finally managed to write one in time! I was determined to make an alternative Mariachi Christmas song with twisted lyrics and a hint of humour about a particularly miserable Christmas. I love Christmas but I'm determined not to add another cheesy, 'everybody is having fun' song to the pile of old Christmas songs by dinosaurs."

The single also comes paired with another new track, titled 'Heavy Cloud'. It's a taste of what's to be expected from the band's debut album, due out sometime in 2016. In a press release, they discussed what the song means to them in more detail:

“Heavy Cloud is probably the most introspective and melancholy single we've released. The song is basically about the weight of anxiety, acceptance and moving forward. Collectively it's one of the bands favourite songs from the album and a nod to which direction we are heading in sonically.”
