Here's a tasty treat of a song by Portland, Oregon-based trio Appendixes. This particular morsel is called 'Persian Rugs' – something that may be making reference to how life can and has been likened to a tapestry, but in this instance something poignantly shorter, more exotic. It's a dynamic song occasionally punctuated by methodical, reverbing drums, founded on deep, robust columns of bass, decorated with fluttering guitars and flashing synths, all of it cradling the soaring vocals that sing "As the years go rushing by / We are all trying to stop time" amongst other, emotion-driven lines.
