It's happening: the controversial global release day kicks off on Friday July 10th.

It's simple really - rather than a bunch of different countries releasing music on different days (example: Mondays in the UK, Tuesdays in the US), music will now be released on Fridays across the globe. Some say it's a bad thing, it could mean independent artists get lost in a sea of releases, others say it's a great thing, and could lead to less piracy.

Regardless, as of July music will be released on Fridays at 00:01 local time. Head here to check out our Upcoming Album Schedule.
