Serving Army man Grip H showcases the Mr Carmack produced cut 'Grind' taken from his third LP Just Klarke, available now from his Bandcamp page.

The laid back, heat hazey tune combines the woozy, wonky beats associated with the J Dilla hip-hop fraternity, with lush organ pads and a lazy, chilled out flow incorporating multiple rhyming styles and decent ad-libs in the process creating a well-executed, well produced track ready to usher in the impending summer.

It comes at a time when the raw beats and flows of The Beast Coast movement threaten to overshadow, the up until now, all dominant West Coast Beat Scene, and thusly serves as a just reminder of how far hip-hop, from both sides of the states has come along and progressed since its seeming stagnation and brain numbing descent into base pop music over the last decade. It is a good listen, although not 100% original (when put in to context against other underground releases of the last few months), the flows are tight, the lyrical content is good and Grip definitely has a presence behind the mic.
