It looks as though Lana Del Rey has every reason to be annoyed right now, as Deadline is reporting that various members of the Academy's music selection for the Oscars have received a fake article from Variety claiming 'Young Beautiful' (from The Great Gatsby) was disqualified due to the film's release date.

Warner Bros. have responded by confirming that it's all nonsense, and that her track (and four others from the soundtrack) are 100% in the running for the award. It's currently up against 75 other tracks, though the final list will be much smaller (announced on January 16th).

We suspect the hate campaign might have more to do with the film rather than Lana Del Rey, but it's an interesting story nonetheless. Watch the video for the song below. [via SPIN]
