An insatiable explosive-menacing beat with insectoid hi-hats skittering at breakneck speed, modulated washes of monstrous guitar, a portal of doomful bass rumbling beneath it all, ghostly-sweet vocals singing things like "Life is good" as mad machines seem to judder around this faint speech bubble: it seems as though HEALTH are back. The track is 'New Coke'.

And this is taken from an upcoming album, due out 7th August, called DEATH MAGIC, which arrives around six years after their last album, Get Color. I didn't realise it'd been that long… wow.

Anyway, here they are returned with a new song and in a video directed by Health bassist John Famiglietti, in which they're basically going spare at some industrial-grade club venue – with drummer BJ Miller on the loose running around topless outside; a couple of them vomit profusely in meticulous slow-motion shots. Despite the disgust I feel, the colours are pretty, especially against the graffiti-caked walls of the toilets. Watch it below.

There is a HEALTH hotline (or helpline?) also, if you feel so inclined: (213) 259-3841.
