Mikal Cronin's latest LP MCII was released on the 7th, and to celebrate he's released two quite charming covers for Aquarium Drunkard's Lagniappe Sessions: a cover of The Proclaimers' 'I'm Gonna Be' and Sixpence None The Richer's 'Kiss Me'.

Honestly, I never thought I'd have to get 'Kiss Me' out of my head again but my friends, here we are. Man... Anyway, why don't you listen to the two covers below and Cronin's explanation of how they came to be, as well?

"I recorded these songs a little while ago to send to my girlfriend when we were living in different states. We share an affinity for cheesy 80s and 90s pop songs, and since she can play ukelele well we could trade cover songs back and forth. On my computer I titled the album these songs belong to as '(F)ukin’ around with Mikal Cronin'… which I stand behind as a mildly funny name for a dumb uke cover album."
