Riding on the crest of a seemingly self made wave is Canadian John Clancy's His Clancyness.

Once a 'he' and now a 'they', His Clancyness have recently found a place to call home with the UK's FatCat records, announced today on the back of a strong SXSW run. Their debut release for the label is the Charade EP, which drops next month on digital... and cassette. Looking both forward and back, the first side contains the magnificent Lower Dens-ish, motorik beat of 'Machines', which you can hear below, plus another cut ('Safe Around The Edges') from the forthcoming, full length record out later in the year.

The second side of the tape compiles some of John's earlier solo recordings. These were previously available on the Always Mist cassette which originally started this momentum with fans and bloggers across the net. The release of the EP will be accompanied by a European tour supporting Deerhunter and Widowspeak, which is good work if you can get it. Bright times for His Clancyness, and a great single out of the blocks with FatCat.
