On a day when same sex marriage is being hotly debated, HMV have announced they have parted company with G-A-Y. The ill-fated retail chain has been forced to sell their majority stake in the iconic company which owns multiple venues in London including gig favourite Heaven.

Fans of the G-A-Y group need not worry about the sale however as the shares have been sold back to the businesses founder, Jeremy Joseph. HMV’s joint administrator Rob Harding said, "we are pleased to have completed the sale of HMV’s shareholding in G-A-Y to the natural purchaser."

This comes just hours after it was announced the store will also be closing between sixty and a hundred outlets in the UK (that number could rise as administrators try and save the iconic company).
